French Camp – A Small Town that Makes a Difference

French Camp, a Small Town that Makes a Difference, is tucked away in the Southwest corner of Choctaw County. Located at the intersection of Highway 413 and the Natchez Trace Parkway, it is a favorite stopping place for travelers on the Trace.
Arriving in French Camp, most people immediately sense that something is different. It is the quaint small town atmosphere surrounded by historic buildings and 400 citizens, as well as the spirit of hospitality that greets every visitor.

French Camp Academy is the town’s oldest and largest employer. Offering a Christ-centered education, FCA serves students in the surrounding area and provides a secure home and community for boarding students from all over the United States.

Another vital part of the educational system in French Camp is French Camp Elementary, part of the Choctaw County School District.
Several businesses dot the landscape: Barlow Blue Gift Shop, Henderson Auto Parts, Leonard’s 3 Way service station and convenience store, Double Blessings Thrift Shop, The Log Cabin Gift Shop, WFCA FM 108 radio station, Camp of the Rising Son, Council House Café, and Mr. Preston’s Garden.
The Mayor of French Camp, Glen Barlow was recently elected to serve as 2nd Vice-president of the Mississippi Municipal League. This position starts him on the pathway to President of MML in 2018.
